{Theme Party Tuesday} Construction Birthday!

I am so excited to share this easy Construction Party theme idea with you today.  These days I am looking more and more for easy/unique ideas that I don't have to spend a ton of time or money on.  This party theme is such a great idea for a park or backyard, and certainly does not have to cost a lot.  The creative mommy of this party theme held the birthday party at a local park, that also had a big sand area.  She bought caution tape and roped off a little area in the sand, and put orange cones down around it too.  The she buried plastic dinosaur bones and fun little plastic crystal bobble gems for the kids to dig up! She also brought her sons trucks and tractors for kids to play with in the sand.  Here is my little one loving digging for treasures in the sand below.

For party supplies she ordered the construction theme hats and party favor boxes from Oriental Trading, she covered the picnic tables with orange tablecloths.  The biggest hit was the chocolate rocks that were sprinkled on the table....they looked so real, the kids were in awe that they were made of chocolate!

My favorite part of the whole party was the construction scene made up of brownies and cupcakes, instead of a traditional cake.  She topped cupcakes with light brown colored frosting and dark chocolate frosting and sprinkled brown sugar and crushed up chocolate chip cookies over all of them to make it look like dirt! She used black licorice to make the tracks for a road that a tractor was placed on inside the box! She made the whole scene inside a big cardboard box lined with plastic.  So creative and amazing!!

She used varying sizes of cupcakes within the scene, and the brownies are stacked below the cupcakes! They were delicious too!

I hope you enjoyed today's theme party! Do you have any photos from a fun party? Or planning one soon? I am currently accepting submissions for Tuesday Theme Party posts! Email me some of your photos to sugarfootdesigns@gmail.com...I would love to feature you!
