Just a touch of pink crispy treats

I LOVE Rice Krispy treats...chewy, crunchy, gooey....what's not to love.
They are really easy to make and super easy to add fun things too!

I had some strawberry marshmellows leftover from Luxy's Carnival Birthday and decided to mix them into my Rice Krispy batch along with some other secret ingredients! The key or trick that I have found is to use 1 less cup of rice krispies than the original recipe calls for, this makes them more gooey and hold together better.  I also add salt and vanilla extract to the melted marshmallow mixture..mmm good!
If you spray a sheet pan with non-stick spray then it's really easy to press into a pan then cut out with cookie cutters!

Such a simple and cute treat for valentines day! Especially because they came out a very light pink color!  They make a really easy dessert to take anywhere!

SugarFoot Rice Krispy's
{adapted from Kellogs Rice Krispy Recipe}

1/4 cup butter
1 (10 oz., about 40) pkg. regular marshmallows or 3 cups miniature marshmallows
*5 cups Rice Krispies cereal (original recipe calls for 6)
*1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
*dash or two of salt

In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and continue to stir until the marshmallows have completely melted.  Add the Vanilla Extract and salt and stir.  Remove from heat.
Stir in the Rice Krispies cereal coating them well with the melted marshmallow mixture.
Using a buttered or silicone spatula, press the mixture evenly into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan which has been buttered or sprayed with non-stick spray or lined with wax paper.
Cut into squares when the mixture cools.
Makes 24 squares.
